Capt John 12 Hour Offshore Wednesday June 8, 2016
Once again heading up the effort was Captain Johnny Williams as the party boat Capt. John left Galveston’s Pier 19.
The area to be fished today by the 83 anglers was about 55 miles to the south of the island in 115′ of water. As has been the case recently the red snapper were there and biting. The limit was taken at this first stop, going to 19.# An assortment of artificial along with sardine or squid baits were on the red snappers lunch list, the diner was located from about 20 feet down to near the bottom.
After the bottom stop and it’s red snapper the run inshore to the remains of the platforms of the old buccaneer field was made. A few kingfish hit freelined Spanish sardines, an assortment of local bottom species were also taken. Todays total catch info:
