Capt. John 10 Hour Offshore Saturday Oct. 15, 2016

Todays 10 hour offshore fishing trip by Captain Johnny Williams. Stops were made at five production platforms from 15 to 28 nautical miles to the East, southeast of the Island. The 60 fishermen used baits of small pieces of cut squid or whole Spanish Sardines from near the surface to near the bottom. While Atlantic Spadefish and Bonnet head Shark were the primary targets they were replaces, for the most part, with numbers of sand trout.

Todays total catch species and numbers were:

225 Sand trout

2 Kingfish

1 Florida Pompano

2 Blue runner

8 Spanish mackerel

3 Croaker

49 Atlantic spadefish

1 Whiting

1 Bonnet head Shark

Justin Williams, Galveston, the Florida Pompano, 20 Atlantic Spadefish, 3 Blue Runner, and 2 released undersized Ling.
