Capt John 12 Hour Offshore Friday July 15, 2016

With Captain Johnny Williams at the wheel the party boat Capt. John left Galveston’s Pier 19 with 82 anglers aboard for todays 12 hour offshore fishing trip.

The area chosen to be fished was in 190 foot deep waters around 55 miles to the southwest of the island. Fishing their natural baits of cut squid or whole Spanish sardines thru the water column had them landing an assorted species catch. That catch was dominated by the red snapper numbers and weighing in at up to 15 pounds. Before heading back to Galveston’s Pier 19 this catch had been taken:

164 Red snapper ( boat limit, to 15#)

3 Vermillion snapper

1 Lane snapper

1 Mangrove snapper

2 Blue runner
