Capt John 12 Hour Offshore Thursday July 7, 2016

This 12 hour offshore fishing trip by the party boat Capt. John had the anglers working their baits at spots to the East of the island. Captain Johnny Williams took the 64 anglers to a couple of bottom spots about forty-five miles out that hadn’t been fished lately to put their squid or sardine baits “on the clock” so to speak. The local population of red snapper responded well to the baits, from the mid-depths to the bottom actually. Giving up a limit to around fifteen pounds. Also taken there were lane and mangrove snapper.

After leaving the bottom spots an inshore run to a surface platform was made. That stop had a few kingfish being added to the catch when they tried to eat the freelined Spanish sardines presented to them.

After leaving the platform the final run of the day began, back to Galveston’s Pier 19, with this total catch:

128 Red snapper to 15#

5 Lane snapper

1 Mangrove snapper

3 Kingfish

Douglas Tigtig, Had a red snapper limit to 15#

Gerry Deguzman, with a red snapper limit to 10#

Gino Asunscion, His red snapper limit went to 7#

See you on the Capt. John!
