Capt. John 10 Hour Offshore Sunday August 7, 2016
Platforms off to the East of the island were again the fishing targets chosen by Captain Johnny Williams for the 60 anglers on the party boat Capt. John.
Several production platforms from 15 to 30 miles off to the ESE of the island in 30 to 40 feet of calm, green water were fished. Once again spadefish and sharks headed up the catch and keep. Numerous red snapper were caught and quickly released alive to be caught and kept in 2017. As per usual small pieces of cut squid accounted for the spadefish and chub, squid or Spanish sardine for the rest.
Species and totals for today were:
515 Atlantic spadefish
60 Bonnethead shark
2 Kingfish
1 Black drum
1 Blue runner
2 Bermuda chub
See you on the Capt. John!
